My First LeapPad Learning System - Blue
Review by Diamond's Roses : Best Product for Toddlers!
I am writing this review to praise the My First Leap Pad product. The "book" was given to my son for a Christmas gift last year when he was barely 2. Right away my son figured out how to use the pen and how to press the "go" button to start each new activity. It is 8 mos later and this product is still a big hit. My son uses it everyday. He already knows all his ABC's, colors, shapes and we are currently working on phonics. It is wonderful to see his little face light up when he realizes that he has gotten an answer correct. I love this product soo much that I am currently looking for all the new books available. I just can't wait until my child is ready for the next Leap Pad level. This is a product well worth investing in. Like I said my son has used this book EVERYDAY for the past 8 mos, and it has been dropped and tugged on, but is still working fine. One time my son accidently spilled his water on the book and after wiping up the excess water and letting it air dry it was as good as new. Not even a single water stain is visable! My son has also gotten a little curious and tried ripping the books in half, with no success. The books for the My first Leap Pad are just as durable as the holder!! Plus, I have only changed the batteries ONCE in 8mos!! I love this product and plan on buying several to give as gifts!! Leap Frog has out done themselves with this learning tool! Oh, and one more thing, as for the books falling off the main holder, all I can say is that again, my son has used his My First Leap Pad everyday now for the past 8 mos and not once have I seen him struggle to keep the book on the holder. Nor have I had problems with the book falling off, even in the car. This is a GREAT product for parents wanting to get their toddlers off to a head start!!

Review by Dylan J. Johnson "Professional Silly Person" : My First Leap Pad
My 3 year old loves his "My First Leap Pad". It is the only educational toy (I don't consider playing on Daddy's computer a toy) that he plays with. As a matter of fact, it's the only toy that isn't Power Rangers or Bob the Builder that he plays with every day. He's learning how to read because of using this toy, when previously he showed little interest. However ... I have not been able to find ANY supplemental books for "My First Leap Pad" and that is a MAJOR disappointment ... you may just want to skip the "My First Leap Pad" and plunk down the extra money for regular Leap Pad ... Looks like I'm going to have to ...
My First LeapPad Learning System - Blue
Review by "cvclawson" : Great gift for any young mind...
I bought the My First LeapPad about two weeks ago. My 2 1/2 year old son just loves it and plays with it all the time. I was compelled to buy this because a relative had the regular LeapPad and my son seemed so interested in it, but it seemed just a bit too advanced for a 2 or 3 yr old.My First LeapPad has activities like counting, alphabets, learning sounds of letters and what starts with the letters, games and lots more. You can virtually touch any object on the page and it does something. The people talk and objects make noise, like touching a door makes a knocking sound. The only thing about the My First LeapPad is its durability... After it started messing up, IE the pen wasn't working properly and the GO circle kept accessing the wrong pages, I called LeapFrog to find out what may be wrong. The operator asked me lots of questions, like does your son put the pen in his mouth, does he pull the toy by its cord, does he put the cord in his mouth, etc. Well, I don't particularly remember witnessing any of these activities, but it could happen, especially with a 2 1/5 year old. She told me these things could EASILY damage the pen. I am being sent a replacement pen, but if it happens again, I will have to pay [money] for another replacement pen.Overall, I think this is a great educational toy.
