Another reviewer mentioned putting a marble on the hole when adding your grounds. The marble suggestion has worked perfectly.

I can see that some people might think this item is small, because it's appearance is on the small size, but it fits the above percolator perfectly. The one I linked above is a 4-8cup percolator and that is about it's max. I wouldn't expect this filter to work well with a 12-14 cup percolator, even though it's package states 7-14 cup percolators.

You do tend to use less grounds with a percolator. I normally used 4-5 heaping tablespoons for my coffee maker to make 4 cups and now I use 3 level tablespoons for 4 cups in the percolator.

this basket is smaller than the basket for my 12 cup percolator. It works great for 10 cup and under brews with 4tbs or less of regular ground coffee; but for 12 cups of brew with 5tbs of grounds its hit or miss and sometimes the grounds overflow the basket and get into the coffee. It does not work at all with fine ground coffee or if you add a tbs of cinnamon to the basket in both cases the grounds always overflow and get into the coffee. Unfortunately gourmet coffees tend to be finely ground. I do not like to grind my own coffee, the grinder is too much noise first thing in the a.m...

All the problems would not exist if the basket was large enough to brew as large a pot of coffee as it claims to since there is no problem with grounds in the coffee when i use paper filters...

The basket works well, but the small size limits its use to about 6 cups rather than the 12 cup capacity. I didnt realize the basket was so small. The picture and desciption are misleading.

I bought this to go with my GSI Outdoors 8 Cup Percolator. It works awesome! The way we go through coffee, I don't know if it will last 3 years for us!! It's a must get for percolators. Excellent price too...

Purchased the filter with the coffee maker, we like the idea of not using paper filters,the one thing we found with this filter is its too small, it's not tall enough or wide enough, making it difficult to fill and holds only eight tablespoons therefore you can not make a full 12 cups of coffee.

This thing is perfect for us! We don't have to chew our coffee anymore!!!!!!
The paper filter only worked part of the time. This is a great product at a fair price.
