Shikakai Organic Baby Unscented Body Soap - 24 oz - Liquid
Review by Catherine Turner Bismuth "CatB" : My #1 Ultimate Bath & Shower Cleanser + GlutenFree
With a long list of allergies and persistent itching that results from contact with forbidden chemicals and botanicals, it is not a simple thing for me to find something that I can use for cleansing.
This is IT! It is the only topical product for bath and shower that I can remember using that is both richly emollient AND hypoallergenic. I just LOVE it. It lathers nicely, rinses off clean, and smells like a fresh baked batch of simple sugar cookies. Nevermind that the label says UNSCENTED. It just means they didn't add fragrances, but the formula is based on a sucrose component, so the delightful scent of warm sugar is just part of the experience. Call it a bonus.
The 24 oz bottle makes the price a bargain, too. At roughly $11USD, it's more affordable than most baby soaps.
One caution: the pump bottle sometimes leaks when unattended, so I have learned to put a pretty plate under it to collect the leakage.
Shikakai Organic Baby Unscented Body Soap - 24 oz - Liquid
Review by PhoenixRising : Best Soap I Have Ever Used!
I was looking for an organic "body wash" that wouldn't leave my skin dry and itchy. I read the reviews on this and decided to give it a try. I am thrilled with the results! Yes, it is what some have described as a "dirty" brown color. Don't let this turn you off. It does have a slightly sweet smell to it, very vaguely like molasses to me. However, the suds are not brown, and the scent does not linger on your skin at all. It does not leave my skin feeling sticky or oily, just soft and clean. I also no longer have the itchy dryness I got from using commercial body washes with all the chemicals in them. I have washed my hair with it, and had no issues with it there either. I had some other shampoo that I needed to get rid of, but am having an issue with dry flakes from it. I will try this since shikakai is also a natural cure for dandruff. I do recommend using a pouf or sponge when using as a body wash if you really have to have lather.
